The Chapter
GI, the [City] Chapter
Each Give 100 City begins through a Founding Commission of three Founding Commissioners. The Commission initiates the local Chapter — formally GI, the [City] Chapter — and is publicly known as GIVA [City] or Givingtide [City]. These are synonymous public names of the same Chapter, not separate bodies.
The Centory
The City Centory
The Founding Commission initiates the City Centory: the City’s emeriti council of no more than 100 Centorians, admitted by invitation as holders of lifelong civic dignity. The Centory is the apex advisory and ceremonial council of the Chapter — the greatest, in permanent service to the least.
Governance
Board of Trustees & Executive Committee
The Founding Commission helps form the inaugural Chapter Board of Trustees — the fiduciary and reserve governing body — and initiates the Chapter Executive Committee, the annual operating body responsible for GIVA mobilisation, programmes, and the life of the Chapter year.
The Opening Semidon
The Opening Semidon & the LAMP
The Founding Commission prepares the Opening Semidon — the first cause-seeding gathering of the Give 100 year in each City, convened when Give 100 formally opens on 21 September 2026. The LAMP — Lead Anchor Municipal Philanthropist — serves as a leading philanthropic light within the Opening Semidon, recognised alongside LAMP Companions as part of the City’s Give 100 convening force.
